UROC Innovations

Congrats Peyton Messina for winning third place in the research poster competition at the 2025 Annual Utah Biomedical Engineering Conference in October! Peyton is a 4th year undergraduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Utah. Her research, “Methylselenocysteine-hyaluronic acid Conjugates to Target Therapy Resistance in Head & Neck Cancers,” focuses on synthesis, structural characterization, and mechanistic anti-cancer studies using a new class of anticancer drug conjugates.

The UROC Innovations Lab is fortunate to have hosted Peyton in the UROC Innovations lab through SPUR, UROP, and her forthcoming Master’s of Science programs. She’s a superstar.

Way to go Peyton!
